20 BIBLE VERSES ABOUT OUR IDENTITY IN CHRIST

We fall so quickly into temptation because we forget who we are in Christ. We fail to realise that merely listening to a sermon one time or reading a scripture that borders on our identity only on a Sunday morning  will not create the change we desperately seek. Many believers get frustrated and wonder if it’s possible to be a Christian in a world of sin.

How do we mortify the deeds of our flesh and live a life pleasing to God? How can we stand for Jesus and say No to sinful habits? How do we kick against fear that causes us to run from one deliverance house to another?

By a consistent reminder of who we are in Christ.

Because we have the tendency to forget and coupled with way our society makes sin so attractive, we can’t leave our minds to run its course.

Satan understands the power that comes from a revelation of our identity and he will do whatever it takes to set his headquarters in our minds. But we cannot allow that to happen. We will soak our minds in the fountain of God’s word because only then will sin become undesirable and our relationship with Christ strengthened.

Whether you are struggling with guilt  for giving in to that temptation or you are seeking for more revelation of the new nature you have received, these scriptures will help greatly.

Keep them in visible corners. Write them out if you can. Put them in places where you can quickly reach them. Dance with them, turn them into songs, mutter, meditate, think on them. Whatever you do, let these words be around you.

God’s Word is powerful. You’ll be surprised the things the Lord will reveal to you about your position in him.

The battle has already been won on the cross. Our responsibility is to walk in the victory we have received.  Can we go right into those bible verses?
