Topic: You need to know what you have
Text: Ephesians 1:17-19

Do you know that every believer is richer than the richest man in the world? They are also the most powerful. Your mind is probably arguing in the negative because you don’t have billions of dollars sitting in your account or you are probably faced with some huge financial debt. But believer, your spiritual realities far supercede every material benefit in this world.
Talk about eternal life, the gift of sonship that licenses you to call God, the creator of heaven and earth, Abba Father! Romans 8:15.
What about Forgiveness of sins and redemption – Ephesians 1:7, Colossians 1:14 – that has freed you permanently from the hold of the devil over your life.
Talk about justification by faith that gives you right standing with God regardless of all your mess – Romans 3:24; 4:25-5:2.
You are literally in the throne room with God – Ephesians 2:6.
What about the exceeding power that manifests in the gifts of the Spirit?
Dear believer, you are in charge.
Just imagine the awesomeness of God. He gave you the Holy Spirit who dwells and resides permanently in you since the day you believed the gospel – Ephesians 1:13-14. You should be shouting and jumping for Joy now!!
You are a walking heaven because you carry God’s presence with and in you.
With such power and inheritance, every believer should be bolder than Superman to the rescue. Instead, we find believers tied down in the cage of fear, carnality and flesh. Why is this? Because many do not know what they have! A man ignorant of his billions would look like the man who has no billions. A believer ignorant of his inheritance would react to life situations like an unbeliever.
Paul knew the necessity for awareness and knowledge, no wonder he made it a continous prayer for the Ephesians. He knew that the secret to a well harnessed Christian journey is in consciousness of this knowledge.
A deep consciousness is built by constant use of what you have.
Jesus was conscious of his identity and inheritance.
The Apostles were conscious of it.
Even Elijah, Elisha, David knew the importance of consciousness.
Look at their walk on earth with God and the results they had. You can have same too.
It’s time to practice consciousness of God’s presence.
A deep consciousness is not the same as mere knowing. What we are referring to is a deep seated conviction about the truth of the word of God – the Gospel. The Gospel is all a believer needs to be conscious of. When you know the Gospel – the birth, death, burial, resurrection and ascension of Christ – you are surely going to walk and live life with your head held high and your heart glorifying the father.
When you know your spiritual realities, your physical reality will surely respond to the supernatural. Meditate on the gospel and pray about it. Act on God’s word. Stay conscious of the inheritance of saints in lights.
